UP DD40AX Diesel

This Union Pacific Diesel loco is what was known as a DD40AX "Centennial." It is the largest Diesel loco ever to ride the rails. It was basically 2 engines welded together in the middle (see the visible gap in ther middle of the engine). If you look close, you will also see that each truck has 8 drive wheels. This engine sits proudly on display in Pomona CA.
